Who We Are
Leave Your Mark ! / Laisse Ta Marque! is a Toronto based non-profit organization that began with a pilot project in the Republic of Mali in West Africa. In November of 2007, Leave Your Mark! / Laisse Ta Marque! launched the “Say your piece…Leave your mark!” program with a group of children from Les petits anges (Little Angels) community school in Bamako, Mali.
Our program is designed to allow children and youth in underserved communities to develop leadership skills through creative expression, promoting self-esteem and self confidence. Our workshops encourage children to explore their WORLD through various forms of CREATIVE EXPRESSION including drawing, writing, music, photography and oral expression. These workshops (ALSO)allow (FOR) children and youth to practice a variety of social skills, including interpersonal communication, problem solving and conflict resolution.
The “Say your piece…Leave your mark!” program also runs a concurrent series of adult workshops. The intention of these workshops is to support adults in providing continued opportunities for children and youth to develop leadership skills within their community.
